A New York vaccination site in Times Square, the former NFL Experience building, administered a supply of vaccine doses which were found to be expired. According to the New York City Health Department, anyone who received a vaccine from June 5 to June 10 should reschedule another Pfizer vaccination as soon as possible.
The 899 people that have been affected by this have been contacted via phone, mail, and e-mail to ensure they have been made aware. The city has eased their fears by ensuring them that there is no safety risk with receiving an expired vaccine, but in order to be fully vaccinated they need to get another vaccination and it must be the Pfizer shot.
The company that administered the shots at this location, ATC Vaccination Services, released a statement: “We apologize for the inconvenience to those receiving the vaccine batch in question and want people first and foremost to know that we have been advised that there is no danger from the vaccine they received.”
